After studying Information Technology Matthew started his Broking career in 1988 working for a commercial brokerage in South Devon.

Following relocation he worked in a business development role for a local independent commercial broker, and was elevated to the position of Commercial Director in April 2000.

In 2003 Matthew was one of the founders of ICIB Ltd and continues to develop his existing client portfolio, whilst obtaining new business opportunities through being actively involved in the running and development of a number of local business referral & support networks.

Matthew is a past president of the Insurance Institute of Coventry, and an Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute.

His main interest is motor sport, in particular Motor Cycle racing, together with Rugby, Fell Walking and socialising with friends.

Was born and educated in Coventry at Cardinal Newman School. He started his Insurance Career in 1987and has had experience in most aspects of the profession and was a founding partner of ICIB Limited.

John is a Senior member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and was President for Coventry Insurance Institute in 2000. He has written for, and featured in local and national newspaper articles, and on BBC Radio.

John’s main interest is Horse Riding, and owns a 17.0 Hand Irish hunter. He is a member of a local riding club and also of the Royal Windsor. Other interests are Travelling, Rugby, Cycling, Motor Sports, Music and trying to play the guitar after many years and he is a member of coventry three spires round table.

After graduating from Leicester University in 1984 Stephen began his career in Birmingham with Royal Insurance. In 1987 he moved to Coventry as a Senior Development Underwriter with responsibility for the major brokers in the City.

In 1990 he was head hunted by a local firm and has been broking ever since.

Stephen is a Senior member of The Coventry Insurance Institute and was
President in 1998. He has also acted as an examiner for The Chartered Insurance Institute.

When his Taxi service duties for his 2 children allow Stephen’s main interests are gardening, cricket, Leeds United FC, studying road maps and collecting old vehicle licence plates!

John has been with us since the company was formed 2003. He previously spent much of his career with Commercial Union (now Norwich Union) in various locations but primarily Coventry and Rugby, where he has built many connections.

A longstanding member of Coventry Golf Club, his other interests include the National Trust, gardening, walking, and supporting the Sky Blues!

Keith ‘s business philosophy has always been that a broker should have a very strong and friendly relationship with clients, and equally, a first class working relationship with insurers.

His interests include amateur operatics, having performed on the famous Swan stage Stratford upon Avon. He is also a keen follower of all sports including football, cricket and rugby. Keith is also particularly fond of a glass or two of red wine.

Robert has worked in insurance since leaving school aged 18 and joined the company in May 2003. Robert is currently undertaking his insurance exams and is a member of the broking team as well as developing his own client account.

Away from work Robert’s main hobby is football and he was a member of the Coventry Sphinx team which won the Coventry Evening Telegraph Cup two years running, with the second final being played at the Ricoh Arena.

Abigail started her career in insurance in 1995, when she started out as Office Junior with a small Coventry Broking firm, however, following a company merger, Abigail was promoted to be PA to one of the senior brokers. She joined Irvine Commercial in April 2003.

Abigail has an excellent working relationship with a large number of clients and is a key support member of staff working closely with the Directors, as Office manager.

She is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is working towards concluding her professional qualifications.

Her interests, when not studying, are reading, travelling, cinema, playing the piano, shopping and socialising with friends.

Karen Marshall

Born in Coventry, Karen has now lived in Nuneaton for twelve years with her husband Gary, their two children and 2 British Bulldogs called Duke & Charlie.

After completing her A levels, Karen graduated with an HNC in Chemistry at Wolverhampton Polytechnic, subsequently accepting a Technicians job at Courtaulds in Coventry working in their laboratory. Later, she decided to move to the Accounts Department, and completed her CIMA qualifications.

After the arrival of her second child, Karen accepted the position of Financial Controller with a small industrial services company, moving after 6 years to a similar position with a design company, from which after 4 years, she joined the team at Irvine Commercial as Accounts Manager in…………….

Karen’s interests are attending her son's football, rugby and cricket matches and shopping for shoes, (adding to an enviable collection), and when time allows Karen enjoys hosting parties at home with Gary that are helped along with the odd bottle or two of fine wine.

Emma Walker

Emma was born and educated in Coventry and began her insurance career
in 1998 at a small firm of brokers, that enjoyed rapid growth, of which Emma was an integral part of the expansion programme. She gained valuable experience along the way, primarily within the customer service and sales division handling small commercial, and personal insurances.

Emma joined Irvine Commercial In October 2006, and is a keen and willing member of our team. She is working towards completing her professional qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

She is married with one son called Reiss. Her hobbies and interests include
Holidays, socialising with friends, Reading and learning British sign language, but most of all enjoys spending time with, and enjoying, her family.
